The 23rd Dutch-Belgian DataBase Day (DBDBD 2026) will take place at Lijm & Cultuur, hosted by Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). Situated directly along the scenic Schie canal adjacent to the TU Delft campus and Science Park, Lijm & Cultuur is a landmark industrial-heritage venue—formerly the historic 19th-century Dutch Glue and Gelatin Factory (Lijm- en Gelatinefabriek). Today, it is an inspiring cultural and conference destination featuring spacious, light-filled event spaces, modern presentation technology, and a vibrant waterside atmosphere ideal for oral presentations, poster sessions, and community networking.
Directions from Delft Centraal Railway Station
Delft Centraal is the main train station serving Delft, with direct, high-frequency Intercity connections to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague. Lijm & Cultuur is situated approximately 2.0 km south of Delft Centraal along the Schie canal.
Public Transport / Bus
Direct local buses run regularly between Delft Centraal and the venue neighborhood.
- Bus Line: Take Bus 40 (direction Rotterdam Centraal) from the Delft Station bus terminal.
- Bus Stop: Alight at Delft, Schieoevers (or Delft, Rotterdamseweg/TU Delft).
- From the bus stop, walk ~200 meters south along Rotterdamseweg to reach the venue entrance at number 272 (approx. 2–3 minutes walk).
On Foot / Walking
A pleasant, flat stroll along the historic waterfront of the Schie canal.
- Route: Exit Delft Centraal through the main concourse toward Stationsplein. Cross the tram lines toward Westvest.
- Head south along Zuideinde and continue straight onto Rotterdamseweg, following the water.
- Walk past the TU Delft campus perimeter on your left. Lijm & Cultuur is located on your right at Rotterdamseweg 272.
