Call for Abstracts

DBDBD 2026 brings together researchers and practitioners to present and discuss recent advances in databases and database-related areas. Submissions will be presented as posters, and a selection will be invited for oral presentations. We invite submissions (1-page abstracts) on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:

• Data storage, indexing, and management: advanced methods for structuring, organizing, and maintaining large and heterogeneous data collections.
• Database theory and models: formal foundations of data models, query languages, semantics, and expressive power.
• Performance and scalability: algorithms, hardware-acceleration, modern architectures, and query optimization techniques under demanding workloads.
• Data integration and quality: methodologies for schema matching, entity resolution, data cleaning, and reconciliation across diverse sources.
• Knowledge discovery and learning: approaches to data mining, graph processing, information retrieval, and machine learning over structured data.
• Security, privacy, and governance: mechanisms for safeguarding data, access control, provenance, differential privacy, and compliance.
• Big data and stream analytics: principles, platforms, stateful stream processing, and distributed architectures for high-throughput data.
• Interdisciplinary intersections: interactions between databases and fields such as artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), quantum data systems, and domain-specific applications.

Based on the submissions, the workshop will be organized into sessions that highlight particular themes.

DBDBD has a tradition of favouring presentations by junior researchers, making it an excellent opportunity to share ongoing work and receive valuable feedback from the Dutch-Belgian database community.

Submission Guidelines

We solicit single-page abstracts of either published work or research in progress. Each submission should contain:

• The title of the presentation;
• The name and affiliation of the prospective speaker;
• An abstract of the presentation;
• Reference(s) to papers covered by the proposed presentation.

The format is a one-page PDF document (including references), prepared according to the official DBDBD 2026 LaTeX template:

There are no printed proceedings. Accepted abstracts will be published on the DBDBD 2026 website and presented at the workshop.
